HO-LEE-COW!!! I will admit I was VERY skeptical about buying this mic...

I was astounded not only by the quality of the build of this mic, but the sound of it is on a par with the 103's I have used in my recording career. So glad to have a quality mike in my studio again! I had used an AKG 451 for decades, but this clone blows it away. The bottom end is very warm, midrange exceptionally clear and the high end crisp without being overly sibilant.

I asked the seller a million questions before I pulled the trigger on it. The mic showed up today and I tested it out. I literally did not have to touch the EQ in my DAW!! Great mic. Its very close to the new TLM103's, Lacking a tiny bit of the umph in the low frequencies compared to the real one, but nothing that eq cant fix. Arrived in the UK in great condition, as described.

Great sounding Mic, it does have many characteristics of an U87, does have depth top shine and clarity, perhaps not the exact same low frequency response. Overall a great tool for any mic closet. You would probably need to spent 3 times as much for a comparable sounding mic.

Having used many TLM in studios I worked in as an engineer and a voice talent. The sound is totally awesome! Seriously! It would be an amazing buy at 4 times the price, but at under $150 it's a no-brainer to put it in your Mic closet. This will be my working mike acing out the AKG 451 and the Shure SM-7. WOW! WHAT A BUY!

I must say, when I opened the mic up (tlm103) I had my doubts, all surface mount, But so is the Real One.. Sound is all that matters and the mic performs EXCELLENTLY! Makes whatever you put in front of it stand Forward from other instruments in the mix!!! Something I had trouble with before. I CANT WAIT TO ALSO TRY HIS take on u87 design!!!!
